Due to the extreme cold temperatures forecasted for tonight, Feb. 8 and tomorrow, Feb. 9, the City of Lockport Code Blue Warming Shelter is again opening for city residents in need at the Salvation Army in Lockport.
The warming shelter will be open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., and any homeless person or individual without heat may spend the evening at the facility, located at 50 Cottage St.
Light refreshments and cots and blankets are available at the shelter to ensure all individuals are comfortable and safe. Doors to the shelter are locked each evening at 10 p.m., although police may escort individuals to the shelter until midnight.
