Code Blue Extended through March 1

Due to the continuing extreme cold weather in the forecast, the City of Lockport has extended the dates of operation for the Code Blue Warming Shelter. It will now be available overnight for city residents in need through the morning of March 1.

During this time, the warming shelter will continue to be open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Located at the Salvation Army at 50 Cottage St. in Lockport, any homeless person or individual without heat may spend the evening at the facility.

Doors to the shelter will be locked at 10 p.m. each evening, although police may escort individuals to the shelter until midnight, and light refreshments, cots and blankets are available at the shelter to ensure all individuals are comfortable and safe.
