With extreme cold temperatures forecasted once again for Monday, Feb. 25 through Wednesday, Feb. 27, the City of Lockport will open the Code Blue Warming Shelter for city residents in need.
Located at the Salvation Army at 50 Cottage St. in Lockport, the warming shelter will be open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Any homeless person or individual without heat may spend the evening at the facility.
Light refreshments, cots and blankets are available at the shelter to ensure all individuals are comfortable and safe. Doors to the shelter will be locked at 10 p.m. each evening, although police may escort individuals to the shelter until midnight.
